I mentioned earlier that we had plans to see the other side of the cousin family and tonight was the night. We met everyone for a pizza picnic at the Teddy Park in Jerusalem. It's a gorgeous area right outside the gates of the old city that has a large fountain to play in that turns on every half hour.
Theo and some of the cousins started a game of "Fishy Fishy" down below while the fountain was on a half hour break. Without any warning, suddenly the entire fountain came alive and water shot up from everywhere completely drenching the kids. It was OK though since it was 112 degrees. My cousins grabbed me and Soph and down we went, fully clothed to jump in the fountain. It was SO refreshing!
After a nice pizza picnic, we waiting till 8 pm for a music, water, light show at the fountain. Apparently, so were 500 other people and as soon as the water turned back on for the light show underneath, hundreds of people ran into the fountain. Soph, Theo and the cousins stayed in the dancing water and lights for the full show and came out sopping wet.
The best part, however, was the woman with 10 children who was running around the fountain, squirting shampoo on all their heads. Only in Israel!
From there, our cousin Yael gave us a wonderful "tour" of the ancient something or other next to the fountain. The kids found some nice crevice's to rest in and we walked home wet. Oh wait, but not before stopping at the Chobo truck!
